Debra Adelson makes full use of the bright and clear colors of glass in her jewelry. By taking cast glass and cold-forming it through carving and etching, Adelson gives texture to the glass. She then takes these small morsels of color and puts them together in silver frames, arranging them so that dimensionality and perspective are created. These compositions are portraits of nature, of the colors of the sky, of the landscape. The shore is an endless source of inspiration for Adelson, and many pieces of jewelry reflect on the colors of the ocean waves, and the effect of light on water.
