Jan Yager
CONTEMPORARY PRECIOUS
Philadelphia, PA
This necklace is one of Yager’s more conventional pieces of jewelry, with her well-known pillow-form hollow silver beads that have been roller-printed, although with perhaps a river pebble that has been pierced to function as a bead. Other forms of her jewelry utilize found objects from her neighborhood, often drug paraphernalia, becoming striking broadcollars of hypodermic needles. We have published on her work, and I have traded jewelry with her.
