Linda Kindler-Priest
CONTEMPORARY PRECIOUS
Bedford, MA
Linda Kindler-Priest has a quiet menagerie that she’s conjured out of repousséd silver and gold, and despite being silent it has an eloquence that speaks volumes. Her canvas of choice is her special two-part brooches, which pair a top, usually a sheet of gold decorated with an animal such as a monkey, an elephant, a bird, or even an Afghan hound, with a bottom piece featuring a magnificent semiprecious stone in a fine setting.
This couplet is a visual poem that tells a story, for the stone is always chosen for a specific reason.
