Artist Lecture – Donald Friedlich

Contemporary art jeweler Don Friedlich gives a free Zoom lecture this Wednesday, at 7 PM EST, hosted by Peters Valley School of Craft. Friedlich is a pioneer in using glass for contemporary jewelry, creating minimalistic interpretations that often exhibit a sublime sense of humor, or a fascination with the qualities of light. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the Corning Museum of Glass as well as others.

Friedlich’s lecture is titled “Things that Make My Heart Beat Faster”. In this lecture, he says, “I’ll be speaking about what inspires my long career making production and one of a kind jewelry from a wide palette of materials. Professional practices will also be integrated into the talk. I promise we’ll have some laughs along the way.” Pre-register at this link: www.petersvalley.org/event/7217/.
