"Stories of Hip Hop" at Schmuckmuseum Pforzheim

SCHMUCKMUSEUM PFORZHEIM hosts “Stories of Hip Hop” exhibiting until June 29, 2025. Originating in the USA, hip hop culture is a phenomenon that has spread over the world since the 1980s, influencing generations of young people, and hip hop lingo is understood and used by many across diverse cultural contexts. A distinctive feature is their conspicuous, oversized jewelry that is lavishly encrusted with diamonds, i.e. »iced up«. Music, graffiti and rap are just as important as the flashy jewelry and the matching outfits. The exhibition extends throughout the building, and will display a street scene from a hip hop film as a backdrop. Concerts, dance performances, a panel discussion, and an evening with Hiphop Kitchen will be part of the accompanying program.
