Mary Hicklin of Virgo Moon is a master color theorist who works in stones. Richly textured semiprecious stones are accompanied by fine silverwork, turning each composition into a visual narrative. She makes use of found objects, as well as treasures chanced upon at a gem show, with her own silver embellishments. The rich textures of the stones she uses combine with deep colors and a natural eye for contrast. These are modern day talismans, created and enchanted by someone dedicated to their craft.
